Problems with IAFA Templates

My Problems

Needed to add local fields

This stops portable use of the templates.

Variants / No way to nest metadata

i.e. an archive file can be described but not the contents

Encoding problems

Cannot represent paragraphs, blanks, non-ASCII.

IAFA Templates are not an active standard

IAFA Templates are an expired draft Internet standard and no IETF WG is developing it.
