I've just put up some ETech Videos made by Dav Coleman at the O'Reilly Emerging Technology Conference 2004 last week. These include Dan and Edd's FOAF talk
session. It is mostly of Dan giving a good introduction to the purpose and scope of FOAF, along with what it's not out to do. Then Edd following with a quick FOAFbot demo. Afterwards there were FOAF lightning talks and the following day Edd gave a Dashboard talk with some more FOAF used and BlueFOAF shown.
I re-encoded the rather large quicktime movies into something more portable using mplayer and ffmpeg so they are now viewable anywhere rather than only where Apple will make the Quicktime binary available. I used:
mencoder -o foaftalk.avi -ovc lavc -oac mp3lame -lavcopts
vcodec=mpeg4 -lameopts vbr=0:br=128 foaftalk.mov
Amusingly I managed to go to a very bloggy conference and not make an entry all week. Too busy talking to actual people it seems :)
